Gale Touger, FNP-BC, IBCLC provides expert, evidence-based care and education in the comfort of your home to help you breastfeed your baby. The visit includes a detailed discussion of your concerns, the health history of mom and baby, reviewing the pregnancy and birth experience, a pertinent physical exam of mom and baby, observing the baby feeding and practicing breastfeeding techniques. You will receive a detailed plan for addressing your concerns and follow-up. A letter summarizing the visit will be sent to the referring physician, midwife or nurse practitioner. Meet the lactation consultant:
Gale Touger has worked professionally with families for decades and is Board Certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner, Lactation Consultant, HUG Your Baby Trainer https://hugyourbaby.org and is certified to teach Infant Massage to parents.. Gale studied at Boston University, Duke University, and UNC-Chapel Hill. She was honored as the NC Nurse Practitioner of the Year, received the Barbara Bennett Peer Assistance Award, and is a member of Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society. Gale is certified in Brazelton’s Touchpoints and the Brazelton Center’s CLNBAS teaching exam (now known as the NBO).
What is an IBCLC?
An International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) is a health care professional who specializes in the clinical management of breastfeeding and is certified by the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners®, Inc. under the direction of the US National Commission for Certifying Agencies.
